Suppose you are running fast in a field when you suddenly find a snake in front of you. You stop quickly. Which force is responsible for your deceleration?

Answer :

When you will see the snake you actually push the ground from your toe so that the horizontal component of the force pushed by earth is opposite to your motion and you stop. The force responsible for the deceleration is friction.
