Chapter 3: Current Electricity

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 3- Current Electricity will provide you with in-depth information about the working of electric current. You will also learn about how the electric charge flow in metallic conductors. Further, you will revisit topics from earlier classes such as Ohm’s law, resistance, resistivity etc.

The relationship between resistivity and relaxation time, colour code of resistance, a combination of resistance etc are the most important topics of this chapter.

Chapter 4: Moving Charges And Magnetism

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 4 - Moving Charges And Magnetism will help you gain in-depth knowledge about magnetic field. Key topics of this chapter are Biot-Savart’s law, Ampere’s circuital law, magnetic field due to a straight solenoid, and magnetic field due to the toroidal solenoid.

Chapter 5: Magnetism And Matter

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 5 - Magnetism And Matter contain topics that are based on the concepts of the previous chapter. In this chapter, you will learn about Coulomb’s law in magnetism, magnetic field lines, torque, potential energy, oscillation of a freely suspended magnet etc.

Next, you will come across formulas of magnetism that you can easily remember from your previous knowledge of the chapter electrostatics.

Chapter 6: Electromagnetic Induction

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 6 - Electromagnetic Induction consist of important laws of physics in the branch of electronics. Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, Lenz’s law, motional emf, Fleming’s right hand rule are the most important topics of this chapter.

Chapter 7: Alternating Current

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 7 - Alternating Current is one of the most important chapters as it will help you gain knowledge about rms value of AC, mean value of AC, alternating emf, inductive reactance, power, and wattless current.

Chapter 8: Electromagnetic Waves

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 8 - Electromagnetic Waves consist of topics that are in continuation to what you already studied in previous chapters. To start, you will first study the displacement current and its uses.

Later in the chapter, you will study Maxwell’s equations of electromagnetic waves, electromagnetic waves and its types, electromagnetic spectrum etc.

Chapter 9: Ray Optics And Optical Instruments

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 9 - Ray Optics and Optical Instruments include various familiar topics such as reflection and its laws, mirror formula, magnification, refraction and its laws, total internal reflection, to name a few. Later in this chapter, you will study the principle of reversibility, refractive index, lens maker’s formula, Rayleigh law of scattering etc.

Chapter 10: Wave Optics

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 10 - Wave Optics describes the relation between waves and rays of light. Huygens’ principle is an important law of optics, which will help you determine the shape of the wave front. In the latter half of the chapter, you will study the behaviour of a prism, lens and spherical mirror towards plane wave front.

At the brink of conclusion, this chapter will entail the law of refraction on the basis of Huygens’ wave theory.

Chapter 11: Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 11 - Dual Nature Of Radiation And Matter will entail topics including photoelectric effect, important terms pertaining to photoelectric effect (free electrons, electron emission, photoelectric emission etc). Later, you will come to know the effect of intensity, potential and frequency on photoelectric current.

Chapter 12: Atoms

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 12: Atoms will make us recall all we had studied about atoms in earlier classes. Atom is the smallest structural unit of matter. We will discuss popular atomic models such as Rutherford’s atomic model, Bohr’s theory of hydrogen atom etc. In the latter half of this chapter, you will learn about energy level, emission spectrum, and absorption spectrum.

Chapter 13: Nuclei

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 13 - Nuclei will enable you to dive deep into the knowledge about nuclei. As we already know that every atom has densely concentrated positive charge and mass at the centre forming its nucleus.

This chapter comprises various topics that will play a huge role in your higher studies. These topics include radioactivity, radioactive decay law, half-life, average life, decay constant, and radioactive displacement law.
