Q. 965.0( 1 Vote )

State True or False for the statements in the Exercise.

If A and B are mutually exclusive events, then they will be independent also.

Answer :

False

If A and B are mutually exclusive. It implies-

P(AB) = P(A) + P(B)

Through this equation we can’t prove in any way that

P(A B)= P(A)P(B).

So, it is a false statement.
