Q. 12

# A conical tent is to accommodate 11 persons. Each person must have of the space on the ground and of air to breath. Find the height of the cone.

Answer :

Given,

Number of person in the room = 11

Each person covers area = 4m^{2}

Total area covered by all = 44m^{2}

πr^{2} = 44

Volume of the cone = 220m^{3}

We know that,

Volume of the cone =

Hence, the height of the cone will be 15m

If *h, S* and *V* denote respectively the height, curved surface area and volume of a right circular cone, then 3π*Vh*^{3}-*S*^{2}*h*^{2}+9*V*^{2} is equal to

A cylinder and a cone have equal radii of their bases and equal heights. Show that their volumes are in the ratio 3 : 1.

RD Sharma - MathematicsA cylindrical bucket, 32 cm high and 18 cm of radius of the base, is filled with sand. This bucket is emptied on the ground and a conical heap of sand is formed. If the height of the conical heap is 24 cm, find the radius and the slant height of the heap.
