# The diameter of a cylinder is 28 cm and its height is 40 cm. Find the curved surface area, total surface area and the volume of the cylinder.

Answer :

Given,

Diameter of cylinder = 28 cm

Height of cylinder = 40 cm

Radius of cylinder =

∴ Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh = 2 × × 14 × 40 = 44 × 40 × 2 = 3520 cm^{2}

∴ total surface area of cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr^{2} = 2πr(h + r) = 2 × × 14 × 54 = 88 × 54 = 4752 cm^{2}

∴ Volume of cylinder = πr^{2}h = × 14 × 14 × 40 = 24640 cm^{3}
