JEE Main 2020 Syllabus

Education Minister Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has instructed the NTA to release a fresh syllabus for competitive and entrance exams for the session 2021. NTA will release the JEE Main 2021 Syllabus PDF on its official site- jeemain.nic.in. JEE Main syllabus is very vast which is divided into three subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Maths. You can download official JEE Main syllabus PDF by NTA for the previous year (2020) below.
To make sure you prepare for JEE Main 2021 from the authentic source only, we have compiled below the detailed NTA JEE Main syllabus with weightage which is mainly based on the latest PDF. The JEE Main syllabus is generally based on Class 11th and Class 12th curriculum. The exam will be conducted for 3 hours, Paper 1 consists of 75 Questions and Paper 2 consists of 77 Questions (as per new exam pattern) from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

NTA JEE Main Syllabus 2020 Download PDF
The syllabus of JEE Main Paper 1 can be divided into three parts i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Furthermore, the syllabus contains two Sections - A and B.
- Section - A pertains to the Theory Part having 80% weightage
- Section - B contains Practical Component (Experimental Skills) having 20% weightage.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020
JEE Main Exam Pattern: JEE Main 2020 will be of 3 hours duration with 75 questions in paper 1 and a total of 300 marks. Test paper of JEE Main 2020 (paper-1) will be consisting of questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, and all questions will have equal weight age, as given below:

Marking Scheme
- In JEE Main question paper there will be only one correct response for each out of four.
- Objective: For every correct answer, you will be awarded as 4 marks, while for the wrong answer, -1 will be deducted, for the unanswered question, no marks will be deducted
- Numerical type question: for every correct answer, you will be awarded as 4 marks, while for the wrong answer, and an unanswered question, no marks will be deducted
- All calculations/writing work is to be done only on the rough sheet provided at the centre. On completion of the test, candidates must hand over the rough sheets to the invigilator on duty in the examination hall.
