NEET Result 2020: What Happens in Tie Situation?

What if 2 candidates secure equal marks in NEET 2020, who will be ranked higher? Two or more than two candidates can’t have the same rank in the merit list, so there are some rules to sort out the ranking order in case of tie situations. The following points are considered:

  • Candidate having higher marks in Biology is given a higher order of merit compared to others.
  • If the marks scored in the Biology section are equal, a candidate having higher marks in Chemistry is given a higher order of merit compared to others
  • If marks scored in Biology and Chemistry are equal, a candidate with a lesser number of incorrect answers is given a higher order of merit.
  • Lastly, if everything else is equal, the candidate senior in age will be placed higher in the order of merit compared to others.

Last Year topper Nalin Khandelwal scored 701 marks and scored AIR 1.This year’s exam was comparatively easier than the last year, so cutoff might rise this time. If you are not securing good marks this time, don’t take stress and gear up again for next year. NEET 2021 is just 250 days away, plan your next attempt carefully.
