Answer :

Traffic Rules Violation

In India, a person dies every 4 minutes due to road accidents. This is because people take traffic rules for granted and do not consider them necessary. Rather, people consider it as an unwanted compulsion, something which they want to get rid of.

Many a times, people are in a hurry and consider traffic rules as a hurdle between them and their destination. People do not want to wait for traffic lights, overtake other vehicles, over-speed, drink and drive, only for short-term happiness. But, for this, they put their lives in danger and expose themselves to a fatal risk that can easily claim their lives.

To get rid of this mentality, we need to educate people. We need to make them realize that these rules are not for increasing your problems, but for your safety. The rules are made in such a way that they ensure safety of every person and every vehicle moving on the road. If people make this point clear in their minds, most of the road accidents can be prevented and everyone will be able to ensure their safety, as well as others’.

India’s Poor Show in Olympics

In the recently concluded Olympics, the Indian contingent did not get much success and could manage only a handful of medals. In spite of sending the largest contingent ever, India could manage only 2 medals, with none of them being gold.

This is because of the perception people have about sports. They do not consider it as an alternative to academics, rather as a distraction to it. People do not understand that it is not necessary for every person to have a good aptitude for academics. One can excel in the field of sports also, and become more successful than he/she would have been if he/she would have read only books.

To ensure that India will not need to see this kind of medal tally again, strong measures need to be taken. There should be more emphasis on sports and encouragement to students who want to become sportsperson. There should be scholarships and other financial aid for people who choose sports as a career. This would nurture the enthusiasm and talent among the nation’s youth and would ensure that our incredible India scores big in all the major sports events.
