Answer :

Children’s love for comics and the role comics play in every child’s life

Be it the yesteryears when we all awaited for the day of the week when our favourite comic would come back to the stores with a new story, or the present times when kids cannot keep the smartphone away before finishing the last page of their favourite character’s story, the love for comic books has remained uniform.

Children like me love comic books for several reasons, the chief ones being that comics bring life to stories and make it easier for us to imagine the scene in our heads, thanks to the use of attractive graphics and presentation. Besides, comics are mostly about superheroes or animals, which makes things even more fascinating for kids like us.

Comics can also play a very positive role in the mental growth of children, for they often send out messages in the form of their stories. It is a fun and interactive way of inculcating values in children these days, who love digging into their favourite comics as a pastime.

Good morning teachers and fellow students. I, Yogita Vashisth, Sports Captain of the School, wish you all a very good morning on the occasion of the Annual Sports Day of the school. Before we begin, I would like to share some food for thought.

Indians have made a mark for themselves wherever they have stepped foot – be it a foreign country or even on the Moon. When it comes to Indian women, however, things sound a little more special, considering the long history of patriarchy the country has seen and faced. Two women stalwarts, coming from a village in Haryana, have proved to us time and again that the strong Indian women is capable of doing everything they were told they couldn’t.

Geeta and Babita Phogat need no introduction. Competent wrestlers, the pride of the nation, and a household name after the movie ‘Dangal’ based on their life story reached Indian homes – they are true examples of pride of the nation. At the recent Commonwealth games, they have managed to procure many medals for their country. What we need to learn from them today is the spirit of sportsmanship, which made them surpass all adverse situations and reach the position they are in today. Let us begin this Sports Meet with the kind of enthusiasm they have for their sport. Jai Hind!
