The structural formula of ethanol is CH3CH2OH.
When ethanol is heated with an excess of concentrated sulphuric acid at 443 K, it results in the dehydration of ethanol to give ethene.
The concentrated sulphuric acid can be regarded as a dehydrating agent which removes water from ethanol.
