Write about sugarcane and oilseeds crops in India?

Sugarcane is a tall, perennial, tropical and semi-tropical grass, the stem of which is used to produce cane sugar and sucrose. It is propagated by two means Satt method and Ratoon cropping. It is a commercial crop and is exported to other countries. India is the leading sugar cane producer. Areas like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal produce large amounts of sugarcane.

Vegetable oils are produced from a large number of crops known mainly in tropical and subtropical regions in the world. India is the leading oilseed producing country in the world since ancient times. With the exception of olive oil and palm oil, India grows all the main oilseeds like groundnut, Sesame, Mustard, Cotton seeds, Sunflower seeds, Safflower seeds, Soya bean, Castor seed, Coconut and Linseed. Linseed oil is in great demand for industrial purposes such as for making paints, varnishes, lubricants, seasoning woods. Areas like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh produce a large number of oilseeds.
