Struggle for democracy in Nepal:

The king of Nepal was massacred in 2006 and the new king named Gyanendra attained the kingship. He took advantage of his powers and removed the Prime Minister and his Council. This led to agitation among the people of Nepal. People gathered in masses and went on strike for several days, around lakhs of people gathered and demanded democracy. The king gave up and granted powers to the Prime Minister, restored the Parliament and the new Cabinet decided to frame a Constitution for the nation. Hence in this way, Nepal got democracy.
