The pattern of the magnetic field lines of the magnetic field around a current carrying straight long conducting wire are in circular pattern in form of concentric circles as shown in the below diagram:

As depicted in the diagram , the direction of magnetic field can be find out by using the right hand thumb rule which says that if we are holding a current carrying conductor in the right hand such that the thumb will point towards the direction of the current. The fingers will wrap around the conductor in the direction of the field lines of the magnetic field.
