Why were Indian farmers hesitant to grow indigo?

Answer :

Indian farmers were hesitant to grow indigo because-

Once when indigo was grown on the land the soil loses its fertility.


They were forced to grow indigo but didn’t get appropriate wages as well as they even couldn't grow the crops of their choice.
