Resource planning is a widely accepted strategy to manage available resources so that resources can be made accessible to all the people of a region.
Resource planning is essential for the following reasons:
a. Optimum usage of the available resources without wasting them.
b. Sustenance of human life for a longer period of time.
c. To maintain the standard of living in the long run.
d. Resources are unevenly distributed in India, to ensure resource availability everywhere, we need to have resource planning.
e. Sustainable development depends upon resource planning.
Hence, we see that even fundamental aspects of development are incomplete without resource planning.
