Why do boiled seeds fail to sprout?
Sprouting: When we soak seeds in water and keep them aside for a day and then drain the water and wrap the soaked seeds in a wet towel we observe tiny white structures growing on the seeds. This process is known as sprouting.
Boiling denatures or damages the enzymes which are responsible for the sprouting process therefore after boiling seeds do not sprout.
