The recognized political parties by the Election Commission of India are given a “special symbol” of recognition. This unique symbol can only be used by the official candidates of that particular party.
NOTE – Election symbols are given to political parties for their recognition among the general public. For example – the lotus flower has been given to the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the symbol of hand has been given to the INC (Indian National Congress).
