(methyl amine) is more basic than ammonia(NH3). Both the compounds have nitrogen which has a lone pair hat can be donated. But this nitrogen in methyl amine is attached to methyl (-CH3)group and 2 hydrogens while in ammonia nitrogen is attached to 3hydrogen only. Methyl group exhibits a greater +I effect the hydrogens. Hence methylamine is more basic then ammonia.
