As we know that, only 10% of the total energy is transferred from one trophic level to another. So, The amount of energy available to the organism of the 2nd trophic level of a food chain, will be 10% of 10,000 Joules which can be calculated as follows:


Energy available to the organisms in 2nd trophic level = 10% of 10000 J = X 10000 Therefore, 1000 Joules of energy will be transferred from first trophic level to second trophic level.
