The changes introduced in cricket in the nineteenth century were-


a. Introduction of boundaries: Earlier, there were no limits, and the players had to run for each and every shot played. The workload of the players was greatly reduced, and the fielders do not have to run a lot today.


b. Overarm bowling: This practice was legalized. As a result, swing and spin openings came into the picture. New defensive techniques had to be introduced.


c. The cork ball: The rules for wide balls were put forward, and the exact circumference of the ball was determined.
