What reforms were
Salvador Allende was the President of Chile. He was the founder of Socialist party of Chile and emerged victorious in the presidential election in 1970.
1. He worked for poor and workers.
2. Introduced affirmative reforms in education.
3. He introduced free milk system for children and redistribution of land to the landless farmers.
4. He was against the foreign companies’ policy of exploiting the natural resources of the regions
His policies faced opposition from the landlords, rich and the church. Some political parties too opposed his government. Later in 1973, he was overthrown by the military commanders of the country.
