The multi-party system was introduced in India to promote the concept of popular participation and equal representation of all the sections of the society.

a. It allows the representation of a variety of interest and opinion.

b. India follows a multi-party system and has proved to be successful and beneficial for all the sections of the country.

c. It strengthens the federal structure of the country.

d. It provides a wide variety of choice to the people to choose from.
