What is the maximum power in kilowatts of the appliance that can be connected safely to a 13A, 230V mains socket?
We know that the formula of power is:
V = 230V
I = 13A
Thus, the maximum power is 2.99kWcan be drawn from the circuit.

The electric power consumed by a device may be calculated by the using either of the two expressions P = I2R or P = V2/R. The first expression indicates that it is directly proportional to R whereas the second expression indicates inverse proportionality. How can the seemingly different dependence of P on R in these expressions be explained.Together With Science
