Density of population can be defined as a number of people living in any particular area. The density of population depends on various factors like weather conditions, the source of livelihood, availability of resources, social factors. Other factors include connectivity to other parts of the world, development of the region, employment factors etc.
i. Northern Plains are densely populated areas as agriculture is the factor which influences its population.
ii. Peninsular regions like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka etc. are moderately populated areas as the weather conditions are good but fewer resources for livelihood.
iii. Northeast regions, Jammu Kashmir are sparsely populated areas because of lack of connectivity to other parts of India and world.
