Pollution may be referred to contamination of the natural environment with harmful elements that cause damage to the ecosystem.
It is mainly of three types:
1. Air pollution: Air pollution refers to addition of contaminants such as poisonous gases, smoke, particulate matter etc. into the air which makes it harmful to breathe.
Mainly caused by smoke released from the vehicles and industries.
2. Water pollution: Water becomes polluted with the addition of harmful chemicals both by natural and artificial means. It is mainly done by domestic sewage, depletion of oxygen levels.
3. Soil pollution: Soil becomes polluted when there is a physical, chemical and biological environment of the soil. Soil pollution is caused by dumping of garbage in the open without proper composting.
