Answer :

When a solution of sodium sulphate is added to a solution of barium chloride the following reaction takes place:

The barium sulphate formed precipitates at the bottom of the test tube in the form of a white precipitate.

The type of reaction taking place here is a double displacement reaction or precipitation reaction.

Observation: A white precipitate of BaSO4 is formed in the test tube.
