There has been following challenges of India after independence:
• To provide enough food for the increasing population of India.
• To bring social reforms and eliminate social evils like child marriage, dowry etc.
• To make strict laws and regulation for bringing different castes of people of India together.
But Poverty has been the biggest challenge of India after independence. Government of India launched many anti-poverty programs such as Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY), Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP), Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana (PMGY), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), National Food for Work Programme (NFWP) and National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).
