What are the Purvanchal hills? Mention any two features of these hills.
Answer :
Purvanchal is made from two words- Purv which means East and Anchal which means region. Purvanchal Himalayas is also known as the Eastern Mountains.
i. It is a sub-mountain range of Himalayas. These Himalayas lie in the Northeast and south of Brahmaputra river.
ii. It includes five major hills- Patkai hills, Barail range, Manipur, Mizo, and Naga Hills.
iii. These mountains are included in the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
