1. Lady Weston was reacting to a situation in which Richard Weston brought out a weapon to prevent himself from the attack of assassins. It was a pistol which had some dusty rust on it as it seemed to be unused for a very long time.
2. Yes she was right with her assumption that it was completely a poor idea to foil an assassin with that dusty pistol because she knew that it was impossible that someone would assassinate her husband as he wasn’t worth to be killed for something and if something like that would ever happened then handling a dusty pistol to thwart the efforts of the assassins was indeed a foolish way of protecting anyone.
3. Yes we approve Lady Weston’s reaction to the situation as she was used to her husband raising alarms at foolish suspicions and to frustrate or thwart the efforts of the assassin i.e. to kill himself by handling the rusty pistol is definitely a poor way of outwitting the assassin instead he should do something else to save himself from the enemies.
