Water is not used to control fires involving electrical equipment. Why?

Answer :

Water is a good conductor of electricity. It conducts electricity due to the presence of dissolved salts in it. So if water is used to put off fires involving electrical equipment then it may conduct electricity and can harm (by giving electric shock) those trying to douse the fire.
