The charges q2 and q3 are exerting a net charge on q1 along the positive x-axis. Here q2 and q3 are attracting the charge q1, why because the resultant force is acting along the positive x-axis. If we introduce a new charge Q at (x,0) then the force on q1 will increase along the positive x-axis. Above we can to know that the charge q1 is negative and newly placed charge at (x,0) is positive. Like charges will repel and unlike charges will attract. q1 and Q will attract each other. So the force on q2 will increase along the positive x-axis.
