# Three coplanar parallel wires, each carrying a current of 10 A along the same direction, are placed with a separation 5.0 cm between the consecutive ones. Find the magnitude of the magnetic force per unit length acting on the wires.

Given: - Current flowing in each wire is i1=i2=i3=10A

The magnetic force acting per unit length on wire due to the flow of the current is

So, for wire w1,

= by wire w2 + by wire w3

= 6.4 x 10-4 N

And for wire w2

= by wire w1 - by wire w3

= -

= 0

Similarly for wire w3

= by wire w1 + by wire w2

= +

= 6.4 x 10-4 N
