The walls of the classroom are decorated with the pictures of ‘Shakespeare’, ‘buildings with domes’, ‘world maps’ and beautiful valleys. How do these contrast with the world of these children?

Answer :

The walls were complete with an art. The poet describes as the walls appeared with the background of a clear sky at the time of first light in the early morning. The walls also have an attractive image of Tyrolese Valley with its beautiful flowers presenting a world of the heavenly splendor. Apart from all this, the walls also have a map revealing the world which they sight from the classroom’s windows which is foggy and harsh. It represents a dark and bleak future with no hope for betterment. Their eyes can only view a narrow road which is enclosed with a dull sky. The poet contrast with these slum children trapped in a cramped dark hole. The art wall describes the beauty, progress, and prosperity. At last, expresses the kindness and love.
