1. After the king dissolved the parliament in 2005, there was a popular uprising in April 2006. The Seven Party Alliance organized a 4-day strike in Kathmandu

2. Maoist insurgents and various other organizations joined and the protest was made an indefinite strike. Security forces were unable to control the masses that even broke curfew.

3. On the last day of ultimatum, the king had to accept the demands of a parliament, an all-party government, and constituent assembly. There was an interim prime minister, restored parliament passed new laws and Maoists came to an understanding with SPA.

Explanation: Nepal’s struggle for the restoration of democracy was a long one in which people and various organizations stood together and protested without violence.
