The pressure in a liquid at two points in the same horizontal plane are equal. Consider an elevator accelerating upward and a car accelerating on a horizontal road. The above statement is correct in

In case of an upwards acceleration, like in an elevator, the pressure at two points in the same horizontal plane is same as both these points suffers the same pseudo forces. However, in a car accelerating horizontally, the height of the liquid above the points will change due to inertia and thus the pressure will be different.
