The number of chromosomes in a certain type of cell division is halved. This kind of cell division occurs in
A. only testis

B. only ovary

C. both ovary and testis

D. all body cells

Answer :

The gametes are produced as a result of meiosis hence they have a haploid number of chromosomes. In sexually reproducing organisms, gametes formation takes place in reproductive organs i.e., ovary and testis. During meiosis, a diploid cell undergoes two successive division to produce gametes.
