a. The transport line is an important trans-continent railway that runs across the continent and connects the two ends. The transport line shown is the Trans–Siberian railway network. It is the major rail route of Russia and originates from St. Petersburg in the west to Vladivostok on the Pacific Coast in the east. It passes through Moscow, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Chita and Khabarovsk.

b. The transport line connects the Baltic Sea with the Pacific Ocean thereby linking the port of Vladivostok on the Pacific Coast in the east to the coast of St. Petersburg in the west.

c. The transport line is the most important route in Asia and the longest double-tracked and electrified transcontinental railway in the world. It has given much significance to the continent. It has helped in the exposure of the Asian region to West European markets. Further, the line runs across the Ural Mountains Ob and Yenisei rivers linking the Chita - an important agro-centre - and Irkutsk - a fur centre – in its route.
