Answer :

We know that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. But there is always a possibility of conversion of energy from one form to another.


When an undesired conversion of energy happens in a machine, it is called energy dissipation.


Every practical machine dissipates some amount of energy.


The concept of an ideal machine is just hypothetical, i.e. a machine in which there is no dissipation of energy. In other words whatever we input we get as output, i.e. the efficiency is 100%.
