Shimla and Ludhiana are almost at the same distance from the equator. But:
i. Shimla is located at a higher altitude than Ludhiana.
ii. Shimla is 2000m above the sea level whereas Ludhiana is 200m above sea level.
iii. The more the altitude, the less is the temperature.
iv. As altitude increases, pressure also increases which makes it difficult to breathe at higher altitudes.
