(a) The poem is addressed to a girl named Hasana. The poem depicts how Hasana finds the first love of her life. The girls cast their eyes to catch a handsome man. All the girls want to marry so they are looking for some handsome men.
(b) As all the other girls seem to smile with downcast eyes in front of the people, (Hasana) she held her head high up and stared directly to the sky.
(c) Her parents wanted her to choose a husband from the people in the market place for her to get marry soon.
(d) When she refused to listen to them, her father whipped (beat) her on the back and her mother groaned at her with a loud voice. They were offended by her behavior.
(e) When a handsome man casted a glance on Hasana was not able to look upon him. She was shy to lift head up to make eye contact with him.
