Answer :

We have arranged data,

8, 9, 12, 17, x + 2, x + 4, 30, 31, 34, 39

Median = 15

Total number of data values, n = 10

Since, n is even, median will be given by

⇒ Median = The mean of 5^th term and 6^th term

⇒ Median = The mean of (x + 2) and (x + 4)

⇒ 30 = 2x + 6

⇒ 2x = 30 – 6

⇒ 2x = 24
