To find distance between P and Q,

X₁=x , y₁=4
x₂=9 , y₂=10

So,√ (x-9)² + (4-10)² = 10

⇒ (x-9)² + (-6)² = (10)²

⇒ (x-9)² + 36 = 100

⇒ (x-9)² =64

⇒ x-9 =8 or x-9 =-8 are the two possible solutions.

x – 9 = 8 and x - 9 = -8
x = 17 and x = 1

are the two possible values of x.
