Given: Each side of the equilateral triangle is tripled

Concept Used:

Area of an equilateral triangle Where a = side of the triangle.

Explanation:

The original area of the triangle New side = 3a

New Area of the triangle New Area of the triangle Therefore,

New Area = 9 times Original Area

Change in Area = New Area – Original Area

Change in Area = 8 Area of original triangle

%age change in Area %age change in Area = 800 %

Hence, the Percentage change in area is 800%.
