Given : ratio of hydrogen: oxygen=2:1.


Tip: Fraction to Percentage conversion is done by multiplying with 100.


In the question we get to know the fraction or ratio between hydrogen and oxygen i.e; 2:1.


Hence, we can write Hydrogen occupies two parts in water


and Oxygen occupies one part.


But since water itself is only composed of hydrogen and oxygen


therefore,


Total parts of water = Parts of hydrogen + parts of oxygen.


= 2+1


=3 parts.


Therefore,


Fraction of water occupied by hydrogen


Fraction of water occupied by oxygen


Percentage of water occupied by hydrogen


=66.66%


percentage of water occupied by oxygen


=33.33%
