Q. 64.0( 6 Votes )

# Factorize:

(i) x^{3} - 3x^{2} + x – 3

(ii)63x^{2}y^{2} - 7

(iii) 1 - 6x + 9x^{2}

(iv)

Answer :

(i) x^{3} - 3x^{2} + x – 3

By hit and trial method we find that x = 3 is a factor of it

So, on dividing x^{3} - 3x^{2} + x – 3 by we get

x^{3} - 3x^{2} + x – 3 =

(ii) 63x^{2}y^{2} - 7

= { Using the identity : }

(iii) 1 - 6x + 9x^{2}

Using the identity :

1 - 6x + 9x^{2} = (3x - 1)^{2}

(iv)

Using middle term splitting, we get
