In the figure, let AC be the ladder and AB is the wall. BC is the distance of the foot of the ladder from wall AB. Join B and C. We get right-angled triangle ∆ABC. Given that, BC = 2m, ACB = 60°. We use trigonometric ratio tan taking AB as the height and BC as the base.
