Q. 53.9( 13 Votes )

# In a class, 60% of the total number of students are boys and there are 14 girls. How many students are there in the class?

Answer :

Let the total number of students = Z

Percentage of girls = (100 – 60) % = 40%

Now,

Number of girls = 40% of Z

⇒ 14 = Z × 40/100

⇒ Z = 14 × 100/40

⇒ Z = 14 × 5/2

⇒ Z = 35
