In ΔASR and ΔABD,
∠ASR = ∠ABD [corresponding angles]
∠ARS = ∠ADB [corresponding angles]

∴ ΔASR ~ ΔABD
We know that two triangles are similar if their corresponding sides are proportional.
∴ x= 2y
