Q. 34.4( 9 Votes )

Write the remainder when the polynomial f(x) =x3+x2-3x+2 is divided by x+1.

Answer :

f (x) = x3+ x2 -3x +2

Given,

f (x) divided by (x+1), so reminder is equal to f (-1)

f (-1) = (-1)3 + (-1)2 -3(-1) + 2

= -1 +1 +3 +2

=5

Thus, remainder is 5.
