Two circular cylinders of equal volumes have their heights in the ratio 1: 2. Find the ratio of their radii.

Answer :

Concept Used: Volume of Cylinder = πr2h


Given: Ratio of heights of Cylinders = 1:2


Assumption: Let r1, h1 be the radius and height of cylinder 1 and r2, h2 be the radius and height of cylinder 2.


Explanation:


Volume of cylinder 1 = volume of cylinder 2


πr12h1 = πr22h2




Hence, r1: r2 = √2: 1
